The inspiration behind our project
Our main motivation was to preserve and present the Taiwanese Bible in a clear, respectful, and accessible way. Many existing Taiwanese Bible resources are difficult to follow for modern readers, especially those learning pronunciation or wishing to study Scripture word by word. This project bridges that gap by carefully segmenting audio and text, synchronizing words, and visualizing speech through color-coded waveforms. This work reflects a long-term, hands-on collaboration between a retired Taiwanese engineer in the United States and ChatGPT, combining faith, engineering discipline, and modern tools to support language learning and cultural preservation. We view AI not as a replacement for human effort, but as a tool that supports patience, accuracy, and care in meaningful cultural work.
